Christophe Avella Bagur is a painter and documentary photographer. From his first major black-and-white reportage, Belfast 1992, to the nocturnal urban colour landscapes of his latest 2025 project, MBK (Malta, Bari, Kraków), he develops an author-led form of reportage in which the image does not illustrate reality: it sets it under tension, between gentleness and threat, beauty and unease, gift and withdrawal.
